Pastured Pork


FALL 2016 ORDERS /  $100 deposit  /  $3.25 per pound of hanging weight


This will be our fourth year raising pigs on pasture and woodlot at the farm.  Each year we add more pasture and learn more about raising healthy, happy and delicious pigs.  From the time we get them as piglets in Spring until the time they are market size in the fall, our pigs spend their days outside doing what they were meant to do - foraging, rooting, and wallowing.   To watch them go about their day is pure joy.

In October / November, the hogs are transported to the butcher with as little stress as possible.  At that time, they average 190 pounds hanging weight.  Customers' names are given to the butcher and they are contacted with the regards to the cutting and wrapping requests. Butcher's prices can change, but around  $.70 per pound of hanging weight has been the average with additional small fees for slaughter and specialty instructions.  Within a week, customers receive calls notifying of pick-up instructions.
